Saves Hot Water
The Water Scrooge™ ShowerStop® helps prevent hot water waste while the shower is warming up.
Once hot water arrives, the flow is automatically reduced to a trickle until the user is ready to shower.

Shower waste doesn’t only happen while you are showering. A lot of it happens before the shower even starts.
You turn on the water and wait for it to get hot. While you brush your teeth, shave, check your phone, or walk away, hot water keeps running — and you keep paying for it.
You pay for water and heating energy even when nobody is actually using the shower.
And in a house with many showers or many people, this small daily habit becomes a large monthly expense.
ShowerStop® technology is designed to conserve hot water that would otherwise be wasted while you wait for the shower to warm up. Once hot water reaches 95 degrees Fahrenheit, the shower head, our special valve, automatically reduces the flow to a trickle until you are ready to enter the shower.
Normal flow is restored when the user activates the valve by simply pulling down the supplied cord.
That means that you still get a comfortable shower — but you avoid the hot water & water waste caused by showers running unattended.
The ShowerStop® valve senses when hot water reaches approximately 95°F and automatically slows the water flow. The user then restores normal shower flow when ready.
This helps prevent “behavioral waste” — the water and heating energy lost during the warm-up routine.
You can still turn on the shower and wait for hot water like you normally do. The difference is that the fixture automatically controls the waste.
ShowerStop® showerhead models include pressure-compensating flow regulation, full-body spray options, rub-clean anti-clog nozzles, and efficient flow rates.
You know how for bathrooms with tub spouts, your kids open the water to use the shower, and the bathtub spouts are pouring gallons of water, and hot water down the drain, and then they leave the bathroom, and who knows when they will return, while fortune through water and hot water is pouring down the drain!
The ShowerStop® Express Tub and Shower System adds another layer of savings by allowing the tub spout to flow only until hot water reaches it. Then the tub spout shuts off, sending water trickling through the showerhead until they return returns, and the flow of water & hot water is restored by pulling down the cord.
This system saves a HUGE amount of money by saving water and hot water that would otherwise be poured down the drain.
It can help in four ways:
Hot Shower Standby
Automatically slows down the flow when hot water arrives in an empty shower
Efficient Showering
WaterSense-certified showering options deliver high-pressure sprays while conserving water.
Tub Spout Diverter Leak Reduction
The system helps stop hot water from exiting the tub spout while the shower is running.
Broken hot water valves
Another big savings is that when the mixing hot water valve is broken, it leaks hot water through the tub spout. The showerstop prevents this hot-water leak because the showerstop bathtub spout closes when the flow reaches hot water. This solution, on its own, will save hundreds of dollars per apartment each year.
Warm-up waste costs money twice: once for the water and again for the energy used to heat it.
You can step away during warm-up without letting the hot water run continuously.
The message should not be “take worse showers.” The message is: enjoy the shower, waste less before it starts.
The Water Scrooge™ ShowerStop® helps prevent hot water waste while the shower is warming up.
Once hot water arrives, the flow is automatically reduced to a trickle until the user is ready to shower.
The Water Scrooge™ ShowerStop® can be installed directly onto compatible shower fixtures with no major plumbing changes required.
Simply connect it to the shower setup and start saving water and energy.
Tenants can still enjoy a comfortable shower experience.
ShowerStop® technology helps reduce waste before the shower begins, without asking users to take shorter or colder showers.
